PhD fellow Jonas Kirstein commence his project called “Optimized water distribution using high-resolution data sources and novel data analysis methods”. Among other things, Jonas examines how more data driven knowledge could be an important tool for utility companies.

His research is based at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU). The PhD project is in collaboration with two major Danish utility companies Novafos and HOFOR, the supplier of intelligent energy and water metering systems Kamstrup and the engineering consultancy company NIRAS. The five of them – DTU, HOFOR, Novafos, Kamstrup and NIRAS– are all partners in the LEAKman joint partnership.

Currently, PhD fellow Jonas Kirstein is working on a model based on temperature differences in water supply networks. Read more.
