In fall 2018 intelligent valves for pressure reduction will be implemented in two of the designated demonstration areas. The feasibility studies have shown pressure reduction potentials of 35 pct. in Klampenborg DMA and 30 pct. in Mileparken DMA.

Intelligent valves are utilised to continuously manage and minimise the pressure in the water networks on DMA-level (District Metering Area) whilst ensuring the minimum required pressure at all end-user connections.

Operating the distribution networks at the lowest required pressure reduces not only leakage from existing leaks, but also burst frequency and energy consumption while prolonging the lifetime of the pipes.
